Buttocks Injections in Bakersfield

Having a shapely butt is a goal of many people. Whether they want it to balance out their figure, for personal satisfaction, or other reasons, it’s never a bad idea to achieve more shapely buttocks. To accomplish this goal, many options exist in modern cosmetic surgery. From implants to buttock injections, you have options to achieve your ideal shape. But exactly what are buttocks injections? Many of our patients confuse injections with implants. However, they are two different procedures. Buttock implants are made of silicone, and appear very similar to breast implants. Injections, however, involve the process of fat transfer or collagen, usually.

At the Silhouette Plastic Surgery Institute in Bakersfield, California, we understand that many people strive for shapely buttocks. Modern fashion and classic sculpture art both emphasize the beauty of the human figure. Full, round buttocks help to balance the figure, and bring patients one step closer to achieving their ideal look. With the help of our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Daneshmand, it is possible to strive for perfection. Dr. D’s extensive experience performing cosmetic procedures on all types of patients and body types speaks to his extensive training and knowledge. What are Buttocks Injections?

Buttocks injections are one of the many cosmetic procedures that we perform at Silhouette. They help our patients achieve an enhanced shape or increased size for their buttocks. During the process, we either transfer fat from a problem area of the body into the buttocks, or use collagen injections. The great thing about the procedure is that we can adjust where those injections go in order to achieve the shape you’re looking for. Further, these injections contour the butt, even out certain areas, and help achieve a more ideal proportion.

Additionally, these injections are often used during Brazilian butt lift (BBL) procedures, and butt implant procedures, which are becoming more and more popular.

Depending on your specific goals, two types of injections exist that achieve unique results:

Collagen Fillers

Cosmetic professionals often use collagen fillers to achieve more firmness in the face. However, they are also viable for butt lifts. They are less invasive than fat transfers, as they do not require taking fat out of the buttock area. Unfortunately, they do pose a slightly higher risk of rejection from the body, and are sometimes less effective. In most cases, we use this method for those looking for minor to moderate augmentation, or in patients with little usable fat elsewhere.

Fat Injections

This involves a two-step process. The first step is to remove fat from a certain area of the body via liposuction. We usually extract the fat from the thighs, hips, or stomach. Then, we purify the extracted fat and inject it into the buttock area. The techniques we use ensure that the end result is smooth and full, evenly distributed buttocks.

What Makes Butt Injections Different?

The two main options that people consider with buttock augmentation are injections and implants. Implants are a viable option for most people, however they pose a higher risk of complications. They also have the risk of rupturing, where injections do not. Further, the implants serve to provide more volume, not an improved shape. Injections offer both shape and volume.

Injections are a great way to provide shape and volume to the entire buttock area, as the transferred fat is not confined to the shape and size of the silicone shell. Also, augmentations with injections usually end up with a softer feel. This is because implants tend to feel like tight muscles under the skin.

Am I a Good Candidate for Butt Injections?

Certain traits make some patients better candidates for buttock augmentation than others. Good candidates for butt injections and other forms of augmentation have the following traits:

  • Good physical health
  • Realistic expectations of outcomes
  • Dissatisfaction with the shape or size of their buttocks
  • Asymmetry of the buttocks
  • No underlying conditions that might affect the outcome or health of the patient
  • Time and ability to follow all recovery instructions and recommendations

Where Can I Get Butt Injections?

We always recommend that our patients seek out a board certified plastic surgeon in Bakersfield for their cosmetic surgery needs. Even though we don’t generally consider cosmetic procedures to be medically necessary, they are still major surgeries. Also, the possible complications are significant. That’s why it is important to seek out a surgeon with a certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery. These surgeons have extensive training specifically in plastic surgery, and are well-equipped to perform virtually any cosmetic procedure. Therefore, we recommend finding a plastic surgery center with a board-certified professional, such as Dr. Daneshmand.

Can I Combine Buttocks Injections With Other Cosmetic Enhancements?

Absolutely. In fact, many of our patients opt to undergo multiple cosmetic procedures at once. Before or after their buttock injections, they choose other body contouring procedures. Popular options include a tummy tuck, breast lift, or breast augmentation. With advancements in medical technology, it becomes easier and easier to perform two procedures or surgeries at once. However, it is important to remember that separate procedures are sometimes necessary. This is usually due to the operating time, the age or health of the patient, and the particular procedures involved. For example, it is difficult to perform both a tummy tuck procedure and a BBL, as there is no comfortable or effective position in which to perform the procedure. Consult with your trusted plastic surgeon about which options work best for your needs.

How Long Until I Can Sit Down After My Buttocks Injections Procedure?

The good news is that injections are significantly less invasive than other types of procedures. However, small lifestyle changes are necessary in order to achieve proper healing and recovery. Most patients experience bruising, soreness, discoloration, and discomfort. Additionally, the body usually absorbs at least some of the injected fat, which means that the immediate results are not permanent. Final results usually appear anywhere from 2 to 4 months after the procedure.

Below, we include tips to expedite the healing process:

  • Wear the compression garment underneath your clothes for at least two weeks.
  • At the direction of your surgeon, schedule massage therapy treatments.
  • Eat more carbs during the healing process to promote both fat retention and healing.
  • Avoid exercise for at least one month.
  • Refrain from wearing tight clothing.
  • Sleep on either your side or your stomach to avoid putting pressure on your buttock area.
  • Use a cushion or pillow while sitting.

What Are the Risks Associated with Butt Injections?

Almost every surgical procedure has risks, even if they are unlikely. Before undergoing any cosmetic procedure, discuss the possible risks with your surgeon. Below, we list the possible complications with buttock injections and augmentation.

  • Risks of anesthesia
  • Asymmetrical results
  • Bleeding
  • Deep vein thrombosis
