Cheek Lift in Orange County and Bakersfield
Orange County Cheek Lift
Facial aging, sagging skin, and prominent nasolabial folds (smile lines) are a common frustration for many people as they age. Luckily, plastic surgery offers a wide variety of Orange County facial rejuvenation techniques, both surgical and nonsurgical. With the help of an Orange County plastic surgeon at Silhouette Plastic Surgery, we’ll restore your youthful appearance and eliminate signs of aging.
The midface is one of the first areas to show signs of aging for most women. As the midface settles due to gravity, the lower eyelids change shape and the youthful fullness that a person once has begins to flatten, making them look older in the face.
A cheek lift, or midface lift, is designed to reverse the signs of aging, while still leaving a natural appearance.
For many people, a traditional facelift is far too in-depth. That’s why we offer a cheek lift, Orange County neck lift, mini facelift, Orange County eyebrow lift, Orange County Botox and dermal fillers, and much more. No matter what your problem areas are, we have a solution for you.

What Is a Cheek Lift?
Cheek lifts are one of the many facial plastic surgery options to restore youthful contours to the cheek area. Many people associate high, full cheeks with youth and beauty. However, as we age, we naturally lose fat stores and fullness in certain parts of our bodies, including our cheeks. For some, this results in unwanted changes such as excess skin, sagging cheeks, and prominent nasolabial folds.
Midface lifts, or cheek lifts, can help to restore youthful facial tissue and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Various cosmetic surgery techniques can be used to achieve a midface lift. It all depends on what your aesthetic goals are, as well as what your facial plastic surgeon determines to be the best option. At Silhouette, we offer both minimally invasive and more in depth Orange County facelift procedures. With the knowledge and experience of a board certified facial plastic surgeon, we can give you remarkable results.
What Is a Thread Lift?
For younger patients who want more of a preventative option, Orange County thread lifts are steadily growing in popularity. A thread lift, colloquially known as a “lunchtime lift,” involves the use of absorbable sutures which provide a more youthful appearance to the face and neck. This minimally invasive process works by increasing collagen formation in the skin, resulting in healthier, tighter skin. It can also raise tissues physically where barbed sutures are inserted.
Thread lifts can be used to treat the following signs of aging:
- Loosening of the facial features
- Jowls and excess fat
- Lost volume
- Sagging skin around the eyebrows
- Loose skin on neck
What Can a Cheek Lift Do for Me?
Cheek lifts are a form of facial rejuvenation that are a less invasive alternative to facelift surgery. Facelift patients tend to experience more downtime, and the healing process is more intensive.
A midface lift can accomplish the following improvements in most patients:
- Restore the facial structure to a more youthful position and youthful fullness
- Minimize the aging process by reducing jowl appearance
- Restore lost volume and improve the facial contours
- Get rid of lines around mouth
- Restore or improve jawline definition
- Reduce facial aging and wrinkles
Who Is a Good Candidate for a Cheek Lift or Midface Lift?
This technique may be appropriate for those who have lost fullness in their cheeks, noticeable smile lines, and a fatigued or aged expression in the midface. Dr. Daneshmand will visit with you to determine if you are a candidate for a cheek lift.
Can I Combine a Cheek Lift with Other Procedures?
Absolutely. As with other forms of plastic surgery or reconstructive surgery, cheek lifts often involve multiple techniques. Many actual patients of ours have chosen to partner their cheek lift surgery with one or more of the following procedures.
- Neck lift
- Full facelift surgery
- Mini facelift
- Orange County eyelid surgery
- Dermal fillers
- Surgery on the lower eyelids
- Brow lift
- Non-surgical facelift options
When you schedule your consultation with Dr. Daneshmand, we recommend letting him know what all of your problem areas are. That way, he can provide you with a customized treatment plan to target multiple areas of the face and neck.
How Is Cheek Lift Surgery Performed?
Cheek lift surgery may consist of surgical relocation of the midface soft tissue, cheek augmentation using fat grafting or dermal fillers, or a combination of the two. Dr. Daneshmand performs cheek lift surgery using a number of modern surgical procedures. The approach employed will be determined by each patient’s facial skeleton, anatomy and preferences. To reach the anatomy of the superficial musculoaponeurotic system, incisions may be made around the lower eyelids, temples, or in front of the ears.
The soft tissue of the face is shaped and elevated to a younger position. Excess skin can be trimmed and muscles can be strengthened. The skin is re-draped in attractive lines that are firm and with a natural looking outcome, rather than being overtightened. In order to add volume to the midface region, fat grafting or dermal fillers may be performed in combination with surgery. Dr. Daneshmand will talk to you about which strategies will work best for you.
How to Prepare for Cheek Lift Surgery
Dr. Daneshmand will inspect your face anatomy during your initial appointment to assess the bone and soft tissue structure, skin quality and type, and overall facial symmetry. He will go through your objectives and expectations in detail, as well as any potential dangers and the best approach to prepare for your operation. He’ll explain what to anticipate before, during, and after your surgery and answer any questions you might have.
What to Expect During Cheek Lift Surgery
We perform cheek lifts on an outpatient basis at Silhouette. During your procedure, you will be placed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia. This depends on the surgical procedure/s that you choose to undergo. Therefore, you should feel comfortable during the cosmetic procedure itself.
The procedure usually lasts around 3 hours. Afterward, Dr. Daneshmand will ensure that you understand the full recovery process. He evaluates each patient individually, so you can rest assured that your recovery will suit your specific needs. We also invite our patients to return for post-op visits to ensure their recovery progresses as smoothly and quickly as possible.
What Is Recovery from a Cheek Lift Like?
After a midface lift, the initial recovery period is roughly two weeks. Within seven days, the sutures are extracted, and most patients are able to return to work after two weeks. For up to six weeks, you should refrain from engaging in strenuous physical activity. During the healing time, the head should be rotated from the shoulders, not from the neck. Additionally, your surgeon might recommend that you wear a compression garment.
How Do I Prepare for a Cheek Lift?

- Medical evaluations using medical history and lab testing
- Adjusting your current medications or starting new ones
- Stopping the use of tobacco products well before the surgery takes place
